Just a hop, skip and a jump down San Pablo is our friends at Wondrous Brewing Company; The Sultan of Saaz, The King of Carafoam, The Colossus of Crispy Bois!!! The great... ....brewbino? yeah, that kinda fell off the rails there towards the end. What we're saying is they are a true brewers' brewery, and we were beyond stoked to have Wynn over earlier this summer to brew up an absolute beauty of a German-style PIls. Keeping things simple we used an even split of Wondrous' Extra Pale Pilsner and our favorite Barke Pilsner malts, alongside and even split of Tettanger and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, which might sound like a bunch of gibberish, but what it distills down to is a Lager made in the east bay that should be emerging from its cold storage to taste as close to a fresh stein of German Pilsner that you could hope for.
