Hailing from a region where historically Lagers are often either malty or crispy, the Vienna Lager is truly a best of both worlds style that has all of the smashability of a German Pilsner with the complexity and satiating flavor profile of a Fest Bier. In the case of Melody & Silence we brewed up a true wholphin, using only traditional German and Central European malt, hops, and yeast. Not being a style to get adventurous or over-hop, this Lager is genuinely all about the malt character, with notes of toasted biscuits, torta bread, raw cane sugar, and flaked cereal, but remains quite dry and drinkable; rich yet crushable. Hop character is quite mellow with just mild hints of wild grass and dandelion. With a respectably lower ABV and a soft yet crisp finish, Melody & Silence is just as much at home on the deck of a fishing boat as it is on a guided pairing dinner menu. [5.2% ABV]
